Youth Alive Louisville

Kenny Boyd - Founder

Kenneth L. Boyd is a native of Nashville, TN. He is the founder of Youth Alive Inc, a non-profit organization that reaches out to youth throughout the community of Louisville, KY.  He continues to travel extensively to share his testimony with others on how God delivered him from a deep nightmare that he was trapped in for so many years. By God’s grace he was able to overcome a life of drug addiction, homelessness, broken spirits, pennilessness, being institutionalized and mental anguish. He was expelled from high school at the age of 15.  He then began to live a fast and dangerous life; he was exposed to the lifestyles of gangsters, murderers, drug dealers, drug addicts and eventually drug usage.  Once Kenny realized that the lifestyle he was living would cause him to be either in the penitentiary or dead, he searched for a way out.

Kenny hitchhiked his way out of Nashville in July 1989 and ended up in Louisville, KY.  His arrival in Louisville led him to several homeless shelters, specifically the Jefferson Street Center.  From 1989 to 1991, the staff at the Jefferson Street Center encouraged Kenny to turn his life around.  In 1994 the transformation began, he was able to begin his newfound life when he surrendered and turned his complete life over to God.

Kenny joined Elim Baptist Church in the fall of 1994; at that time he was searching for something more powerful than he thought imaginable.  He was out there in the streets for so many years somehow one day the Holy Spirit came and grabbed a hold of him.  From that day forward God continues to be the center of his life. Then the process of his life began to make a complete change, he got involved in the men ministry that meets every Saturday at Elim Baptist Church. During that process, he began treatment at JADAC (Jefferson Alcohol and Drug Abuse Center) and later moved to the nurturing environment of the Healing Place to live.  At the age of 30, Kenny went back to high school and was able to graduate from Adult Education High School with a 3.0 G.P.A, for this he received the President's Award for “Most Outstanding Student”.

In 1995, Kenny enrolled at Jefferson Community College and successfully earned his Associates in Human Science in 1999.  He is currently working to complete his Bachelors Degree in Social Work.Kenny’s message of deliverance and hope far exceeds the desperation accompanied by the oppression of many silent sufferers.  A father of two beautiful daughters, a servant of God, and an inspiration to many who’ve found themselves at the brink of despair, Kenny Boyd’s message is pure and simple: Reach the heart and save the soul. God has the answer and is the answer to fulfill your every need. In Him all things are possible if you don’t die during your valley experience.
